But my problem is, when i used new site and existing database it prompts to overwrite the data.

Now im torn between install an additional site for replication or additional management server.
I dont want to overwrite database.

when do replication it will always overrite the others.

thats normally done during the first time you decide that you want replication.

install new sepm 12.1

it has a new way of connecting clients. under home tab

select task on right hand side.

it will ask for update commuication settings.

if its 11 use sylinkdrop

Hi,

Select first option Install my first site then select SQL database & choose the option i.e. connect to an existing database.

Refer this article to know more about it.

Hi Chetan,

This is v11 we are talking about here.

We just want to install connect the newly re-installed SEPM console to the existing database (with DATA already) without overwriting the existing database.

So far if new site is selected and existing database is used, it will prompt that database has already have user data and it will overwrite the existing data.

I don't know if I can use the option to install an additional manaegement server for failover/load balancing or additional site for replication. This is just one server we are talking about.

Thanks,

Mark
