Issue/Introduction

It has been prescribed or become necessary to run a repair of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console. 

Environment

SEP 14.x

SEP 14.2.x

SEP 14.3.x

Resolution

To repair the existing 14.x, 14.2.x, or 14.3.x installation of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager,

 

  1. Open Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a program:
  2. Select the "Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager"
  3. Choose "Change"
  4. Click "Next"
  5. Select the Repair option and click "Next"
  6. Click "Install" and the repair will begin


  7. The pop up "Welcome to the Management Server Configuration Wizard" will be displayed

  8. Click "Next"

  9. Click "Next"

  10. Click "Next" and enter the password for the database user name
  11. Click "Next" to continue the Wizard

  12. Click "Finish"


The SEPM 14.x, 14.2.x, or 14.3.x console is now reset and should be ready for login.

Note: Screenshots shown are from a 14.3 RU2 SEPM repair. Depending on the SEPM version and type of database currently used, the options may look different.
