Issue/Introduction

How will the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client update if it is configured to use both the LiveUpdate server and default management server (Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager) for updates?

Resolution

These LiveUpdate settings are located in Server Settings within the LiveUpdate policy. When LiveUpdate Server and default management server (Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager) are selected to provide updates, the client computer will first attempt to retrieve updates the SEPM (Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager). If the client computer can not retrieve content updates from the SEPM, it will then retrieve updates from the LiveUpdate Server.
