Issue/Introduction

After installing a Cloud-enabled Management (CEM) package on a client machine the agent will not connect via the cloud.

On a client computer with verbose logging enabled the following errors appear in the logs.

Environment

Name on certificate does not match the name of the site. (0x80090322)

Server certificate is not valid. Remote host name: EXAMPLE.Test.EPM.com

Certificate for the gateway EXAMPLE.Test.EPM.com is invalid. Thumbprint mismatch.

Cause

The name of a server must match the Subject Name in the certificate.

For example if the certificate name is EXAMPLE.EPM.com but the server name is EXAMPLE.Test.EPM.com. The names do not match and the problem will exist.

Resolution

To resolve this issue change the FQDN in the CEM Policy to match the name on the certificate.

  1. In the Symantec Management Platform Console go to Settings> Notification Server> Cloud-enabled Management.
  2. Expand Cloud-enabled Management> Policy and select Cloud-enabled Management Settings.
  3. Select the Gateway Server that is incorrect, click the pencil icon and change it to the name on the certificate and save it.
