Issue/Introduction

You'd like to install the automation folder on a client machine.  Right click on the machine in the console, go to Advanced, then click on Install Automation Folder.  There is no feedback provided and the automation folder doesn't get installed.

Environment

This was seen and duplicated in GSS 3.1 MP3.  Previous versions may also have this issue.

Resolution

For this issue, please make sure you've got the latest build of WinPE10 added to the product and install MP5 when it is released.

As a work around, build an automation folder installer through the Boot Disk Creator, copy the installer onto a machine and execute.

From within BDC, either create a new configuration or use an existing configuration, right click on this configuration and choose the option to Create Partition Installer.  Make sure to choose either 32 or 64 bit and hit Next.  Make note of the Path: value as this is where the installer will be created.  Allow the BDC to create your automation folder installer. Once this has completed go back to the GSS console, click View then Resources.  The GSS eXpress share will load on the right side of the console. Browse to the BWPkgs folder and follow the path seen in the previous step. Once you find the executable that was created by the BDC, drag the executable on to the client or folder and schedule it to run.

Once the task has finished, the automation folder will be installed and ready for use.
