Symantec Protection for SharePoint Servers

Symantec Protection for SharePoint Servers detects and removes viruses, spyware, and other threats on files uploaded to and downloaded from your SharePoint server(s). Using Symantec’s award-winning antivirus technologies it quickly scans files for potential threats. The product integrates into the SharePoint Administration Console to provide easy and seamless management of your SharePoint server environment.


Renew Online

To use the online License Renewal Center, you will need the serial number, license certificate, or license ID of your product. Note: Some Symantec products may not be available for online renewal through the License Renewal Center.

Product Activation & Licensing Keys

Customers with valid maintenance contracts may access the FileConnect electronic software distribution site to download the latest versions of selected Symantec software. To use the site, you will need the serial number of your product.


Symantec Protection for SharePoint Servers is licensed in two ways:
  • Per user for internal use - When purchasing for internal use, companies must purchase a license for every user within the company that has access to SharePoint.
  • Per server for external access - When the SharePoint environment is open to external users, a per server license must be purchased.
Note: If a company provides access to both internal and external users, they must purchase both an internal license for every SharePoint user and an external per-server license.
