CUPERTINO, Calif. - Sept. 12, 2005 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), today announced that Peter Szor, security architect for Symantec Response and author of "The Art of Computer Virus Research and Defense," will present at the upcoming RSA Conference Power Days in Chicago and New York City.
Szor's first presentation is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. - 12:05 p.m. CDT, Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Rosemont Conference Center in Chicago. His second presentation is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. - 12:05 p.m. EDT, Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York City. Both presentations will focus on malicious code and analysis techniques to help security personnel gain a better understanding for deploying defenses against increasingly complex threats.
Szor's presentations will be based on his book, "The Art of Computer Virus Research and Defense," (Addison-Wesley, ISBN 0-321-30454-3, $49.99), which was published by Symantec Press and is available at www.ses.symantec.com/symantecpress.
As a security architect with Symantec Response, Szor designs and develops anti-virus technologies for the Norton AntiVirus product line. He joined Symantec in 1999 and is the author of several U.S. patents that are pending.
