(Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced the availability of industry-leading solutions for application performance management, archiving, backup and recovery, storage management, clustering, and security for Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Symantec's i3 for SQL Server, Backup Exec, NetBackup, LiveState Recovery, Storage Foundation High Availability (HA) for Windows, Enterprise Security Manager, and AntiVirus solutions have all been developed to work with SQL Server 2005. SQL Server 2005 is the next version of Microsoft's flagship database. It will focus heavily on enhancing three key areas, including enterprise data management, developer productivity, and business intelligence. The latest i3 for SQL Server offerings enable IT managers to set and maintain service levels for .Net applications and web services running on SQL Server 2005 databases.
Backup and Recovery
When it comes to SQL Server backup and recovery, NetBackup, Backup Exec, and LiveState Recovery software simplify database backup while increasing availability.
