Visitors to one of Clalit’s 700 healthcare clinics in Israel can breathe a little more easily now. They might not be aware of it, but the data the healthcare provider uses to manage their needs is now a lot more securely protected than it was before. Instead of relying on an unreliable tape backup process, Clalit is now using Symantec NetBackup PureDisk to deduplicate data and pass it over the network to the centralized data center in Tel Aviv―from where it is protected using Symantec NetBackup. The process delivers improved data protection and disaster recovery, it’s faster, and it’s cheaper (backup data volumes have shrunk by 80 percent). It comes as little surprise therefore to find that Clalit considers Symantec to be ‘one of its most important and most respected strategic partners’.
