Veritas Storage Foundation
Veritas Storage Foundation from Symantec maximizes your storage efficiency, availability and performance across operating systems, virtualization technologies, and storage hardware to build resilient private clouds. Storage Foundation enables a flexible and agile infrastructure, reducing storage costs with features such as deduplication, compression, thin provisioning, and storage tiering, providing a standard set of integrated tools from Veritas Operations Manager, a comprehensive management platform. With Storage Foundation, you can implement any changes to your storage infrastructure, including operating system or array migrations, without impacting application availability.

Training
The Veritas Storage Foundation 5.0 for UNIX course is designed to bring an engineer that is proficient with fundamental issues of Veritas Storage Foundation up to speed quickly on the advanced concepts and failure scenario recovery. The course will cover the descriptions, procedures, and possible troubleshooting techniques that can be used when working with VERITAS Storage Foundation 5.0 for UNIX. This will include upgrade, VxVM disks, VxVM objects, CDS environments, VxVM features, debugging file systems, snapshots and checkpoints, Dynamic Multipathing, benchmarking, and performance issues.
In this course, you will learn to integrate, operate, and make the most of Veritas Storage Foundation, including Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) and Veritas File System (VxFS), in a UNIX environment.
You will learn to install and configure Veritas Volume Manager and how to manage disks, disk groups, and volumes by using the graphical user interface and from the command line. You will also learn system troubleshooting and recovery, online file system administration, cross-platform data sharing, and offline and off-host processing using volume snapshots and storage checkpoints.
The Symantec High Availability Fundamentals course describes how to manage storage in a high availability
environment, perform cluster management, and practice basic file system administration This 5-day, instructor-led, hands-on class covers how to use Veritas high availability technology to meet data availability goals of your operations by implementing Veritas Cluster Server and Veritas Storage Foundation, which includes Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas
File System.
