New Delhi, Jan 7, 2013 - Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) today announced the new Mobility Solution Specialization and new Cloud enablement offerings to enable Symantec partners to help Indian businesses accelerate their Mobility and Cloud initiatives. Businesses want to realize the productivity benefits of Mobility and Cloud, without compromising protection of critical data. Symantec's new programs and offerings will help partners demonstrate the skills and expertise required to deliver differentiated services to solve customer challenges and drive revenue.
"As technology continues to evolve in the business world, we know that partners are continually adjusting and broadening their offerings in order to address ever-changing needs and provide the value their customers expect," said Amitabh Jacob, channels director, India & SAARC, Symantec "In response to this Symantec's new Mobility Solution Specialization and new Cloud enablement offerings provide partners with the tools and resources needed to increase their marketability, drive additional revenue and get the job done."
Specializations are the cornerstone of the Symantec Partner Program and provide increased opportunities for predictable, profitable growth to partners who display knowledge and experience in a solution area or market. The latest Symantec Mobility Solution Specialization and new Cloud enablement offerings support the company's focus on rewarding partner investments with increased engagement and a closer relationship with Symantec. Both programs are available to channel partners in India.
"Customers are increasingly asking us to help them address challenges such as BYOD and manage disparate mobile devices securely within the corporate network as well as the cloud," said Sunil Dalal, managing director, Softcell. "We as a partner are excited to build expertise in the Mobility and Cloud programs from Symantec to address these opportunities and generate value for our customers. With these programs we are confident of enabling customers to accomplish their cloud and mobile vision."
"Cloud computing as a technology trend is seeing a lot of interest from customers. However, not many are aware of how they can take advantage of the cloud effectively," said Prashant Mudbidri, director, Logix InfoSecurity Pvt. Ltd. "Symantec's new Cloud enablement offerings are a welcome move to enhance our skills and reinforce customer confidence in our capabilities to assist them in leveraging the cloud model."
Mobility Solution Specialization for Channel Partners
Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD), in particular, is a source of contention for businesses. Partners are in a unique position to help overcome the challenges BYOD presents by offering a complete set of solutions that provide organizations with the high level of oversight needed when dealing with employee-owned devices.
Symantec is announcing a dedicated mobility channel specialization program that will allow partners to offer Symantec's enterprise mobility products to their customers. The Mobility Solution Specialization will cover the full Symantec Mobile Management Suite and will provide partners with access to opportunity registration, expert resources, enablement programs, and accreditations in a multi-tier model.
Partners participating in Symantec's Mobility Specialization will be able to establish compelling practices around enabling mobility with an end-to-end solution. By allowing partners to solve complex, enterprise-class mobility initiatives instead of point projects, Symantec's portfolio can lead to multiple opportunities for value-added services as well as sustainable revenue streams.
New and Enhanced Cloud Offerings
Symantec recently announced its vision and solution portfolio for safe, agile and efficient clouds. As part of this announcement, Symantec is also introducing new and enhanced cloud channel programs and placing more focus on helping our partners get into new markets, to drive exponential growth particularly in the cloud environment.
Symantec is making additional resources available so that our partners can more effectively deliver cloud solutions into the hands of more businesses. Examples include:
- CloudSmart e-learning course, which is an indispensable tool for partners looking to break into the cloud space; more than 300 partners recently completed the course and are leveraging the new revenue streams this program facilitates.
- Symantec Cloud Security Essentials Training shares critical cloud knowledge and best practices on building and protecting clouds to help customers design and architect a comprehensive cloud data security strategy, based on Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) guidelines.
- Symantec's enhanced subscription-based licensing program (ExSP) makes it easier to purchase Symantec solutions via a subscription-based model, thus reducing the licensing fees as the partner's business volume increases.
