Eligible employees may purchase Symantec stock twice a year, on designated purchase dates, at a discounted price through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Through the plan, employees may elect payroll deductions from your pay to be deferred for the purchase of this stock. The purchase price of the stock is 85% of the fair market value at the end of the purchase period (February 15th or August 15th, or the first business day prior).

In the Symantec Corporation Section 401(k) Plan, the company matches 50 cents for every dollar you contribute - up to 6% of your eligible pay. The maximum company match is $6,000 each year. You may contribute up to 50% of your eligible pay on a pre-tax basis, up to the annual IRS limit. If you are age 50 or older, you may make additional "catch-up" contributions above the annual IRS limit. Symantec's disability plans preserve a portion of your income if you are unable to work as result of illness, injury or pregnancy. Short-term disability coverage is provided to employees. Week 1 – utilize your PTO; week 2-8 receive 100 percent of your pre-disability earnings (including commissions); week 9-26 receive 75 percent income replacement. Long-term disability is available at 66 2/3 percent or 66 2/3 percent post-tax of your base salary (including commissions) up to a maximum benefit of $15,000 per month.

Symantec provides employees with Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D) at two times base salary (including commissions) to a maximum death benefit of 1,500,000. Supplemental life and AD&D insurance is also available. Symantec provides Business Travel Accident Insurance at up to three times your eligible compensation to a maximum of $1,000,000.
