
Vice President for Emerging Markets for Symantec in EMEA
Andrew Douglas is Vice President for Emerging Markets for Symantec in EMEA. As such, he is responsible for developing Symantec’s business strategy for one of the fastest growing regions world wide, incorporating the South Africa, Russia, Middle East, Dubai and Israel.Prior to being appointed Vice President for Emerging Markets, Douglas was the VP for Specialist Sales, a very key area for developing sales growth for strategic and acquired technologies. He was also the VP for the Northern Region just prior to the merger with Veritas. When Douglas joined Symantec he held the position of enterprise sales director for Symantec in the UK and Ireland, where he was instrumental in developing a sales strategy aligning the sales of Symantec’s enterprise security solutions to vertical markets – a move which had a significant impact in increasing the sales of high end-security products. His promotion to vice president is recognition of his focus and success in driving the success of the Northern region.
Before joining Symantec as enterprise sales director in August 2002, Douglas spent 18 years in a range of commercial roles in the IT industry, including Info’Products and solutions provider Basilica Computing. His previous experience includes managerial positions in the channel, where he has built service businesses from scratch and led the consolidation of six European acquisitions into one operating company worth $200m.
Douglas is married with four children and is a keen football player and occasional golfer.
