Michael Brown

Former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Quantum Corporation

Michael Brown joined Symantec's board of directors following the company's merger with VERITAS Software in July 2005. Brown had served on the VERITAS board of directors since 2003.

He joined Quantum Corporation, a provider of data back-up solutions, in 1984 and over the years held a number of management positions. From 1993 to 2002, Brown was chief executive officer and also served as the chairman of the board from May 1998 to July 2003.

Brown serves on the board of directors of Nektar Therapeutics and a number of private companies. He holds a master's of business administration from Stanford Business School and a bachelor's degree from Harvard University.
