Torgny Gunnarsson

Vice President of the Northern Region, Europe, Middle East & Africa

Torgny Gunnarsson was responsible for starting up Symantec in the Nordic region back in 1993. After having had two external roles in the industry, Mr Gunnarsson is back with Symantec since early 2004. Until recently, he held responsibility for all of Symantec’s business in the Nordics and Baltics after Symantec and VERITAS merged in 2005.  He has been promoted to Vice President of the Northern Region, Europe, Middle East & Africa.
Within Symantec he has had a variety of roles including Corporate Sales Manager, Regional Manager, Senior Manager Strategic Alliances and Director of Enterprise Sales, EMEA. Mr. Gunnarsson has an extensive background and experience within the IT-industry, having held several leading positions in sales, partner and alliance roles as well as general management. He held senior positions at Vignette Corporation as General
Manager for the Nordic Region and with TiFiC AB, a Swedish software company, where he served as CEO. He has also worked with sales and management at Hogia AB in Sweden where he started his career in IT back in the 1980´s. Mr Gunnarsson holds a degree in natural science together with an economics and marketing degree from IHM Business School in Sweden. He also holds an officer’s rank in the Swedish Army.
