The Essar Group is a private conglomerate with operations in 15 countries which include steel, energy, power, communications, shipping ports, and logistics and projects. To enable its continued growth, Essar had to develop a world-class IT capability to fuel business growth. From an IT perspective, Essar’s strategy was to modernize applications and upgrade its infrastructure to support process improvements, and establish strategic IT vendor relationships. Essar partnered with Symantec to standardize and bolster its security infrastructure for endpoint and messaging security, resulting in protection from threats, including spam and malware blocking. Symantec backup and recovery solutions were also used to optimize data protection. Moving forward, Symantec will continue to be an integral partner in helping Essar’s IT organization fulfill its promise of delivering IT efficiencies and business process results.
