When the Unum Group built out a world-class information security program, its Enterprise Information Security & Risk Management team turned to various Symantec solutions for assistance. The solutions—based on a combination of technologies and services—address everything from messaging security, to security management, server management, to IT compliance, to email archiving and e-discovery. Unum is driving various results with the help of Symantec. These include avoiding as much as 20 terabytes of email storage, reallocating up to three IT FTEs who monitored and managed network security to other tasks, reallocating two additional IT FTEs who managed messaging security to other initiatives, saving up to 80 hours of employee time each month by streamlining proactive threat management processes, and maintaining a 28-day patch management window across 1,400 data center servers.
