What are Symantec's certification exams like?
Each certification exam is an electronic performance-based, multiple-choice examination that gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of critical skills sets against published objectives. Qualified proctors through independent test centers, on Symantec's behalf, administer the certification exams. Each exam has a predefined time allowed. Please confirm timing allotted when registering for your exam. All exams are closed book, which means you may not have any printed material, computers or calculators with you during the exam. Upon completion of your exam you will receive immediate on screen feedback on your scoring.

Symantec Exam Delivery Provider
Prometric is the exclusive provider for delivery of Symantec Certification exams. Pearson VUE discontinued selling and administering historical Veritas Specialist and Professional certification exams after December 31, 2007.
As the demand for IT certifications grows, Symantec understands the importance of delivering the best possible certification program along with a consistent testing experience for our customers. By partnering with Prometric’s model, Symantec Education will ensure program enhancements and more consistency in the customer experience.

Obtaining Symantec Certification
To become Symantec certified, candidates must pass exam(s) available through Prometric testing centers. To assist in preparation for the certification exams, candidates are strongly encouraged to attend training course(s) available through Symantec, in addition to meeting any necessary prerequisites, on-the-job experience, and study. Be cautioned that attendance in a training course does not guarantee passage of a certification exam. See the Symantec

Test Center Availability
Symantec candidates for certification will be glad to hear that Prometric is expanding daily and have designated more than 600 markets in the top 30 certification-volume countries. Registering for an exam
The certification exams are administered through Prometric Worldwide Test Centers. Candidates are required to obtain a "Prometric Identification/Login and Password (ID)" prior to registering for any exams.
Candidates can choose from several registration methods:
1. Online
The most convenient and efficient means of scheduling examinations is through Prometric’s online registration system. This system allows candidates to access real-time scheduling 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Candidates can select their preferred testing date and location, receive immediate on-screen confirmation as well as a follow up email confirming their appointment details. 2. Via Telephone
Prometric supports a global contact center organization providing Symantec candidates a convenient means to schedule their test appointment via telephone. These phone numbers are available at Prometric.com. US candidates can call 1-866-891-6397.
3. At the Test Center
Of course, candidates can also schedule their examination in person at their local Prometric test center or by calling the local test center (numbers are listed at Prometric.com. Each test center uses a local scheduling system that is directly tied into the centralized scheduling database and offers instant appointment confirmation.

Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive the Symantec Certification welcome kit (including your certificate) and access to the Symantec Certified logo to use on your business cards. You will also gain:
