How to cut down on spam

Use free online services like Mailinator or Spamex, or free desktop programs like VersaForward, to create a secondary email address you can use when you shop online or register for Web sites.
Use your ISP’s spam blocking tools, supplemented by the anti-spam technology in Norton Internet Security and Norton 360.
Never respond to an emailed request regarding an “urgent account problem.” These are always attempts to steal your identity.
Spam is illegal. Help put spammers out of business by forwarding spam to the Federal Trade Commission at spam@uce.gov.
