Patching: It’s essential for PC protection

If you see a dialog box from a trusted vendor that asks if you want to check for updates or download and install a patch, click OK and follow the instructions.
Make sure your system is set to receive automatic Windows updates when they are available. Go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Automatic Update to check your settings.
Check for updates to your other applications on a regular basis, for example, on the first day of every quarter.
