Social Networking and Teens: Stay Savvy

  1. Don't respond to email, chat comments, or other messages that are hostile, belligerent, inappropriate, or in any way make you feel uncomfortable.
  2. Keep away from revealing anything incriminating about yourself, your family, or your friends that could possibly get you or someone you care about into trouble.
  3. Avoid giving out personal information or downloading information from other kids' profiles, because you can open your computer to hackers.
  4. To protect yourself from hackers, install an internet security program has a firewall and an antispyware tool that work with other parts of your security system.
  5. Never get together with someone you meet online. It's the biggest danger to your safety.
