Cannot start Norton Utilities 14.0 from the desktop icon or the Windows Start menu

STEP 1
Start Norton Utilities

1

In the system tray, right-click the Norton Utilities icon, and then click Open Norton Utilities.

2

If you see the User Account Control window, click Continue.

When you enable registry monitoring, or when you exit the program by clicking “X” in the top-right corner of the window, Norton Utilities minimizes itself into run in the background. Registry monitoring requires that the program remains running in the background. If you choose not to perform registry monitoring, right-click the system tray icon and then click Close. After that, you can start the program from any location.
If the problem persists, go to Step 2.
