Error: "Symantec Service Framework has encountered a problem and needs to close..." after you install the latest updates for a Norton 2009 product or Norton 360 Version 3.0


Run LiveUpdate

Start your Norton product.

Depending on your Norton product, do one of the following:

  • For Norton 360: On the bottom-left corner, click Run LiveUpdate.

  • For Norton 2009 products: In the Computer pane, click Run LiveUpdate.

When LiveUpdate finishes installing updates, click OK or Close.

If you are asked to restart the computer, click Restart.

Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Norton LiveUpdate finished - No updates found".
