In November Symantec formally announced that development efforts for the Wise Package Studio product family will be discontinued. We have carefully developed a plan that will enable Wise Package Studio customers to migrate to a new product offering. We recognize this will be an inconvenience, but we are confident that the upgrade will be worth the effort.
To continue providing you with world-class application packaging capabilities, we are excited to provide customers with industry-leading technology from Flexera Software. AdminStudio for Symantec is a branded version of AdminStudio from Flexera Software. Symantec will offer three editions of AdminStudio for Symantec: Enterprise, Professional, and Standard. The three editions of AdminStudio for Symantec will include all of the functionality found in the traditional AdminStudio product plus functionality specifically developed for users of Altiris management suites and existing Wise Package Studio users. In addition, Symantec will also offer AdminStudio Virtualization Pack, an optional add-on that provides advanced packaging support for the application virtualization technologies from Microsoft (App-V), VMware (ThinApp) and Citrix (XenApp).
As part of the notification, you should have received information on how to migrate from Wise Package Studio to AdminStudio for Symantec. The migration program will be offered from November 7, 2011, until November 7, 2012. Wise Package Studio licenses covered by current Essential Support or Basic Maintenance are eligible to migrate to a AdminStudio for Symantec. Migration to AdminStudio for Symantec will not affect your existing Wise Package Studio licenses. You may continue to use previously purchased Wise Package Studio licenses.

Symantec is dedicated to providing Wise Package Studio customers with the best service and support through the transition to the new product line. All Wise Package Studio customers who currently have a maintenance agreement may purchase a cross-product upgrade to receive comparable AdminStudio products. If your maintenance is not current, please contact Symantec for available options.
Going forward, current Wise Package Studio customers will have the opportunity to upgrade to AdminStudio for Symantec, which provides functionality comparable to or superior to, the functionality in Wise Package Studio.
