Symantec's Visual Café for Java Garners PC Computing MVP Award at COMDEX

Las Vegas, Nev. --November 17, 1997--Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq:SYMC), the leading provider of Java development environments, announced today that Symantec's Visual Café for Java 2.0 Database Development Edition won the prestigious PC Computing MVP award recognizing the industry's top software products of the year. Symantec Visual Café for Java Database Development Edition was recognized as an industry leader based on technology, usability, performance, innovation and value.

According to PC Computing, each year the PC Computing editorial staff rigorously evaluates thousands of hardware, software and Internet products, narrowing the final list of MVP Finalists and Winners to the very best business computing. PC Computing recognized Visual Café for Java Database Development Edition as an excellent, well thought out product that has the technology and innovation to set it apart from other development tools to become an innovative stand out in its category.
