Cupertino, Calif. --June 5, 1998--
Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced that ACT! 4.0 for Windows 95/NT, continues to be
on Windows Magazine's WinList of recommended products. In the June 1998 issue, ACT! 4.0 was
selected to the prestigious WinList for the second consecutive version. In the May 1998 issue of PC
Computing, the product received five out of five stars.
"Long a favorite of salespeople, ACT! should continue to widen its popularity... Version 4.0
also increases ACT!'s Internet capabilities while improving its user friendliness," wrote
James Powell, Windows Magazine editor. "ACT! 4.0's ease of use, flexibility, and improved
e-mail and Internet features keep the program on our WinList. Competitorswould do well to mimic
ACT!'s improved forms designer, which offers easy-to-follow customization options for adding
new fields and forms."
Every month, Windows Magazine editors evaluate and compare hundreds of products, including desktop
systems, notebooks, and hardware as well as software products. Editors update the list each month
with new hardware and software to provide readers the most up-to-date information available on
current market offerings. Windows Magazine sends its monthly WinList to readers free of charge via
e-mail subscription.
"We are pleased that ACT! has been chosen to remain on Windows Magazine's highly regarded
WinList," said Christopher Calisi, vice president of Symantec's Remote Productivity
Solutions Business Unit. "This is a great stamp of approval that ACT! is continuing to serve
the needs of its customers."
ACT! 4.0 extends customer databases with the world of Internet information, delivers superior
integration with communication tools, and provides the power users are looking for in a familiar and
easy-to-use interface.
