Symantec Donates $10,000 and Copies of pcANYWHERE Software to Victims of Florida Fires

Cash, Product Donations Targeted at Helping Floridians Recover from Devastating 'Summer of 1998'

Cupertino, Calif --August 12, 1998-- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in utility software for business and consumer computing, today announced it has donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to aid the victims of this summer's Florida fires. Symantec also announced it is offering free copies of pcANYWHERE32 v8.0 remote control software to Florida residents affected by the fires.
