Symantec to Include Netcom Internet Access Service in pcTelecommute
Telecommuters now can benefit from low-cost Internet access further encouraging
productivity gains when working from home
Cupertino, Calif --August 17, 1998-- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq:

computing, today announced that it will include Netcom Internet access
service in Symantec's new pcTelecommute product. pcTelecommute is the
industry's first solution that gives telecommuters everything they
need to work from home. Netcom provides reliable Internet access to
customers in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. With Internet service
included in pcTelecommute, users can access office data and
applications over the Internet, saving the cost of long distance phone
calls.

pcTelecommute gives telecommuters everything they need to work from
home-with the conveniences of being in the office. Users can transfer
files from their remote site and the office, send and receive faxes at
their remote desktop, and access office-based applications and files
as well as e-mail. Users can also use pcTelecommute to quickly create
status reports for managers from the editable work log and
automatically log all incoming and outgoing calls as well as send and
receive faxes. A caller ID and screening function displays all
incoming phone numbers or only those of specified priority callers,
thereby decreasing interruptions and increasing productivity.
pcTelecommute was designed for telecommuters who work from home one to
three days per week.
