Symantec's ACT! 4.0 The Best-Selling Contact Manager, Continues its Leadership by Winning INFOWORLD's Test Center Comparison of Sales-Force Automation Solutions

- ACT! 4.0 Wins Five out of Seven Categories -

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Oct. 14, 1998 -Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in utility software for business and personal computing, today announced that ACT! 4.0 won InfoWorld's prestigious Test Center comparison of sales-force automation (SFA) solutions featured in the Oct. 5, 1998 issue.

The products were evaluated on three performance areas: contact management, sales forecasting and opportunity management. ACT! 4.0 was chosen over competitors including GoldMine, Maximizer and TeleMagic and ranked highest in implementation, contact management, documentation and technical support.

InfoWorld also reported, "Symantec understands its customer base and has given customers what they want: a friendly, reliable and complete contact manager at an affordable price."

With ACT!, scheduling appointments, calls, meetings, to-dos and changing plans is a mouse-click away. ACT! automatically tracks all completed calls, meeting details, to-do items, faxes, e-mails, and activities, and even records changes to specific fields, such as phone numbers or addresses.
