Symantec's pcTelecommute Wins Outstanding Innovation in Telework Award International Telework Association & Council Honors Symantec at Annual Conference

Cupertino, Calif --October 27, 1998-- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq:SYMC), the world leader in utility software for business and personal computing, today announced that the International Telework Association & Council (ITAC) awarded its Outstanding Innovation in Telework Award to Symantec Corporation for pcTelecommute, the industry's first telecommuting software productivity solution.

John Heacock, ITAC President, presented the award to Symantec in Washington, D.C. today, at the Fifth Annual ITAC Conference. The Outstanding Innovation in Telework designation is awarded to the organization, profit or non-profit, individual, or team that has advanced telework by creating and implementing an outstanding and innovative program, product, process, or service.

ITAC's mission is to serve as the primary resource for information, education, standards, and advocacy on telecommuting and telework.
