Symantec Receives Top Honors From Home Office Computing Magazine

First Annual HOC 100 Awards Recognize Innovation, Dependability and Performance of Four Symantec Products

Cupertino, Calif --November 17, 1998-- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC), the worldwide leader in utility software for business and personal computing, today announced that Home Office Computing recognized ACT! 4.0 in its first annual HOC 100 Awards, giving Symantec the distinction of earning more HOC 100 Awards than all its competitors. Symantec's Norton SystemWorks received the top Gold award for the Utility Package category while pcTelecommute earned the Gold award for the Remote Access listing.
