Symantec's pcANYWHERE32 Receives Check Point Software OPSEC Certification

Integration via OPSEC Architecture Provides Customers with Secure Environment for Conducting Business Transactions from Remote Locations

June 11, 1999 - Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) announced today that pcANYWHERE32, the world's leading remote control/remote access software, has received OPSEC Certification from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in secure enterprise networking. OPSEC Certification through Check Point Software's Open Platform for Secure Enterprise Connectivity (OPSEC) Alliance ensures interoperability with Check PointO FireWall-1O and Check Point VPN-1O solutions. By securing and logging pcANYWHERE32 traffic at the firewall and VPN gateway, Check Point Software and Symantec are providing a greater level of manageability and security for their joint customers. This interoperability enhances security and eases network management of mobile professionals and support staff using pcANYWHERE32 to access, control or support PCs on opposite sides of the corporate firewall or VPN gateway.
