Symantec and Network Associates Settle Litigation
CUPERTINO, Calif. – Dec. 20, 1999 - Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ: SYMC),
Network Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: NETA), and Network Associates’ subsidiary
Cybermedia, Inc., today announced that the companies have settled copyright, trade
secret, and unfair competition lawsuits brought by Symantec against Network
Associates and its predecessor McAfee Associates, and brought by Cybermedia against
Symantec.
As a result of today’s settlement, two federal lawsuits and a state court case
involving Symantec and Network Associates, and a federal lawsuit involving Symantec
and Cybermedia, have been resolved.
The terms of the companies’ settlement are confidential.
