Symantec Security Veterans Bring 14 Years Experience to
the Internet Security Conference
CUPERTINO, Calif. - April 25, 2000 -- Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced that two of its top security experts will lead seminars and present papers at The Internet Security Conference (TISC) this week in San Jose, Calif.
Char Sample, principal engineer for Symantec, will present a full-day workshop titled "Security From the Inside Out: System Engineering for Security Systems" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. The workshop will educate attendees on how to maximize various security point solutions to form a system that effectively addresses the security vulnerabilities within a corporation. Additionally, Sample will present a white paper titled "Why Software Reliability is Internet Security, Only Stronger" on Wednesday, April 26 from 1:40 to 3 p.m. Sample will discuss prevention for present and future security vulnerabilities, review various methods associated with software reliability engineering, and illustrate how to apply them to various security system models.
Carey Nachenberg, chief researcher at the Symantec AntiVirus Research Center (SARC), will present a white paper titled "MCM for MM: Malicious Code Management for 2000." In his presentation at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, Nachenberg will discuss the threats of malicious mobile code, the risk it presents to corporations, and how corporations can effectively address those risks.
