Symantec Appoints Vice President To Run Europe, Middle East And Africa
Lotus Executive Giuseppe Verrini Joins Internet Security Leader as Head of $200 million Region
CUPERTINO, Calif. - April 27, 2000 --
Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today
announced the appointment of Giuseppe Verrini as vice president Sales, Marketing
and Services of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Giuseppe Verrini joins the company from Lotus Development where he was general
manager of Southern Europe, Middle East, Mediterranean, Eastern Europe and
Africa. As vice president of Symantec EMEA, he is responsible for the company's
largest operation outside the United States. The EMEA region generates more than
$200 million a year in revenues and grew 24 percent in the first quarter of 2000.

Verrini said. "I am delighted to join a successful and growing company which has
clear strategic objectives and a track record in achievement."
Giuseppe Verrini takes over from Dieter Giesbrecht, who has been promoted to
senior vice president International with responsibility for Symantec's worldwide
business outside of the United States and Canada.
