Three Symantec Executives To Address International Conference on Information Systems
CUPERTINO, Calif. - July 18, 2000 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), a world
leader in Internet security technology, announced today three executives have
been invited to speak at the International 2000 Conference of the Information
Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), July 17-19 in Orlando, Florida.
Mark Egan, chief information officer and vice president of Information
Technology; Char Sample, principal researcher of the Core Technology Group; and
Greg Adams, director of Development Enterprise Security Solutions, will each
address separate sessions of the conference.
With security and information technology issues increasingly driving the business
of a company, the Chief Information Officer is essential in the strategic plan of
that company. Egan, presenting on July 19 from 1:30 - 5 p.m., will demonstrate a
management view of security and the issues that a Chief Information Officer may
face. Sample, speaking on July 17, from 2:15 - 5:30 p.m., will address different
point solutions - firewalls, IDS and VPNs - and how to bring them together as a
security system. Adams, speaking on July 19 from 10:30 until noon, will address
how the computer security paradigm promises to solve security problems and
prevent others from occurring within current technologies.
The International 2000 Conference will be the 28th Annual conference of ISACA.
