Symantec Delivers Content Filtering Solutions To Users Of Cobalt Server Appliances

I-Gear and Mail-Gear Available for RaQ 3, RaQ 4, and Qube 3 Line of Servers

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Nov. 29, 2000- Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced that customers who use Cobalt's RaQ 3, RaQ 4, and Qube 3 server appliances now have access to Symantec's I-Gear and Mail-Gear software. Symantec's I-Gear offers real-time filtering technology and extensive URL filtering, while Mail-Gear provides comprehensive, policy-based e-mail filtering protection.

Designed for service providers, Cobalt's RaQ 3 and RaQ 4 server appliances offer a full suite of Internet and application services that makes the deployment of applications and layered services over the Web quick, easy, and affordable. Cobalt's Qube 3 servers are especially well suited for small-to-medium sized businesses and the education market as customer-managed appliances or as customer premise equipment managed by telecommunications carriers and service providers.

Symantec is listed on Cobalt's "Solutions Directory" www.cobalt.com/solutions where customers can link to Symantec and download a 30-day trial version of either I-Gear or Mail-Gear.
