Symantec Joins Microsoft at Windows XP Launch in New York City

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Oct. 24, 2001- Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), a world leader in Internet security, today announced its participation in Microsoft's Windows XP Launch on Oct. 25, 2001 in New York City. Featured as the "Protect Your Experience" software provider for the new operating system, Symantec will exhibit its full line of Windows XP-compatible Internet security and problem-solving solutions inside the Windows XP Partner Pavilion as part of the launch activities. Symantec is also offering special product rebate opportunities for customers who purchase Windows XP.

The Designed for Windows XP logo program brings hardware and software-quality standards under a single logo, making it easier for customers to recognize products that are designed to deliver a great computing experience with the Windows XP operating system. Symantec's special Windows XP rebate opportunities include a $20 USD / $30 CDN mail-in rebate offer with the purchase of either Norton Internet Security 2002 or Norton SystemWorks 2002 when purchased with Windows XP or a Windows XP Ready PC. This rebate offer is available in the U.S. and Canada and is valid through March 2002.
