Nation's First Physician-Owned Malpractice Insurer Deploys Full Symantec Offerings
CUPERTINO, Calif. - March 13, 2002 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced it has signed The Doctors Company (TDC) as a new customer of Symantec's Managed Security Services and Internet security products. The Napa, Calif.-based company is the first national physician-owned and operated medical liability insurer, providing medical malpractice insurance protection for physicians in all medical specialties in all states.
As part of the three-year contact, The Doctors Company will deploy a full range of Symantec security products, supported by Symantec's Managed Security Services, to ensure protection of its Web site and computer network against cyber attack at all entry points the desktop, server and gateway. As a Managed Security Services customer, TDC will receive live, round-the-clock security network monitoring support from Symantec security experts to ensure both proactive and reactive protection against current and emerging threats.
