Symantec Director of Advanced Research to Speak at PTC2003
CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Jan. 20, 2003 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that Stephen Trilling, senior director of Advanced Research at Symantec, will speak at 25th annual conference of the Pacific Telecommunications Council, PTC2003, in Honolulu, HI. Trilling will give a presentation as a panelist during the Security Super Session on Tuesday, January 21 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Trilling's talk, entitled "Securing the Internet, Securing Our Way of Life," will examine the nature of today's cyber threats and how those threats may evolve in the years ahead. Furthermore, Trilling will discuss the need for comprehensive, integrated security solutions to protect critical computer systems from future cyber attacks.
The theme of PTC2003 is "Global Broadband/Global Challenges." The Pacific Telecommunications Council was established to provide a bridge between different regions of Asia-Pacific in the telecommunication sector, between traditional and convergent telecommunications industries, and between technologies and markets.
