Tech Data Recognizes Symantec as Most Valuable Partner
CUPERTINO, Calif. - March 3, 2003 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that TechData, the leading worldwide provider of IT products, logistics management and other value-added services, selected it as the "Most Valuable Partner" at the TechSelect partner conference, which took place Feb. 19 - 23, in San Antonio, Texas. This award further demonstrates Symantec's commitment to the channel, specifically those partner focused on providing security solutions to the small-to-mid-size business market.

More than 150 members of TechData's reseller community attended the conference and selected Symantec as the Most Valuable Partner based on a demonstrated level of commitment to the TechSelect community; the ability to offer solid products and solutions that are in demand by end-users; ongoing selling support including training, certifications and comprehensive sales materials; and consistent partner follow-up that helps to build and strengthen ongoing relationships.

At the conference Symantec representatives lead a series of Business Growth Roundtables with VARs and also gave presentations on "HIPAA and Beyond: Security Protection in Healthcare," "Requirements for Security in the Enterprise" and "Integrated Solutions to Blended Threats."
Symantec was also recognized as the "Most Valuable Partner" at the TechSelect Montreal Conference in July 2002.
