McKesson is the leading provider of supply, information and care management products and services designed to reduce costs and improve quality across healthcare.
"David's addition to the board strengthens the diversity of experience from which Symantec can draw," said John W. Thompson, Symantec chairman and chief executive officer. Prior to joining McKesson, Mahoney was a principal with McKinsey & Company's San Francisco office, where he worked from 1981 to 1990. In addition to building a strong client base across several industries, he was active in significantly enhancing recruiting and training programs. He also served as one of three U.S.-based principals on a worldwide strategy project.
Mahoney has also been a director of Nadro, S.A., the leading specialized distributor to Mexico's healthcare sector; of Cytel Corporation (now Epimmune) a biotechnology company; and of Armor All Corporation.
