(Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that Advanced Call Center Technologies (ACT) has selected Symantec Managed Security Services to monitor and protect its cyber infrastructures. A leading provider of outsourced customer contact services, ACT delivers customized solutions to a range of markets, including financial services, mortgage services, healthcare, telecommunications, and utilities. Symantec Managed Security Services helps businesses, like ACT, manage security risk from emerging threats through real-time threat analysis and an unparalleled global perspective of the security landscape.
As part of the agreement, ACT has deployed Symantec ManHunt, which will be monitored and managed by Symantec Managed Security Services. Symantec ManHunt provides multi-gigabit network intrusion detection, real-time threat analysis, and proactive prevention and response capabilities to protect organizations against emerging threats and denial-of-service attacks. From Symantec's Security Operations Centers, Symantec security experts will analyze security data generated by ManHunt to identify suspicious network activity, investigate and prioritize each incident, and then initiate a response in accordance with ACT's customized escalation procedures. Working closely with ACT, Symantec security analysts and engineers will take action to defend against intrusions before a crippling loss of information can occur.
