Halvorsen Leaves Symantec Board
CUPERTINO, Calif. - March 23, 2004 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced the resignation of Dr. Per-Kristian Halvorsen from the Symantec board of directors, effective immediately.
Halvorsen was appointed to Symantec's board in April 2000. He is vice president and director of HP's Solutions and Services Research Center. Dr. Halvorsen is leaving Symantec's board of directors to concentrate on his other ongoing business interests. His departure leaves nine members on Symantec's board.
"We appreciate Dr. Halvorsen's service to the company," said John W. Thompson, Symantec's Chairman and CEO. "His contributions will be missed."
