Symantec to Present at International Spam Conference

CUPERTINO, Calif. - July 27, 2004 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that William Plante, senior director of worldwide security and Symantec’s Brand Protection Task Force, will speak at a conference held by the Institute for Spam and Internet Public Policy (ISIPP). The conference, entitled “International Spam Law & Policies: A Global Case,” is scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2004, at the Westin Hotel San Francisco International Airport in San Francisco.

Plante’s presentation, entitled “Where Spam Comes From, Where It’s Going, and Thoughts From the Front On A Roadmap For International Cooperation,” is scheduled from 1 – 1:45 p.m. Pacific time, and will provide a profile of who spammers are, how they operate, and recommendations for how to combat spamming from an international approach.
