ON Technology Comments on First
Quarter Sales;
New Customer Orders Validate Continuing Momentum
Leading organizations select ON
Command CCM to reduce costs
and improve productivity in mission-critical operations
such as customer call centers worldwide.
Waltham,
MA, April 5, 2001 – ON Technology (Nasdaq
NM: ONTC), a leading provider of remote software delivery
solutions, today announced that it expected sales for
the first quarter ended March 31, 2001 to be up 25 percent
from last year’s first quarter sales of $4.1 million.
According to ON Technology Chairman, President &
CEO Robert L. Doretti, the quarter was highlighted by
a number of new customer wins, expansion in the Call
Center vertical market, and several important repeat
customer orders.
Doretti commented, “The current
economic climate is causing many organizations to focus
on technologies that dramatically improve the bottom
line while simultaneously enhancing customer satisfaction.
We look forward to helping our customers achieve these
objectives with our industry-leading products and services.”
During the quarter, the Company
continued to win business against competitive products
such as Microsoft SMS and IBM/Tivoli Enterprise. Customers
chose the Company’s flagship product, ON Command
CCM™, because it is significantly easier to use
and faster to implement than competitive offerings.
In addition, ON Command CCM provides a more comprehensive
set of software management capabilities, which significantly
lowers IT infrastructure costs while increasing the
productivity of employees in mission-critical operations
such as customer call centers. Many of the company’s
customers are also using ON Command CCM to save time
and money by automating their migration to Windows 2000.
New and repeat customer orders
for the first quarter included orders from:
- GC Services, which operates
customer call centers for leading organizations such
as WorldCom, American Express, and GE Capital.
- Providian Financial, a leading
financial services company that continues to expand
its utilization of ON Command CCM in its customer
call center operations worldwide.

a major New York City law firm that purchased ON Command
CCM as part of a total “managed PC” solution
from Dell Computer.
