ON Technology Gains Share in Law Office Market;
Signs new Customers, Including Godwin Gruber
ON Technology Product Suite Ideally Suited for Small
Firms’ IT Staffs to Manage Key Technology Initiatives
Waltham, Mass. (May 8, 2003)
- ON Technology Corporation (Nasdaq:ONTC), a leading
provider of enterprise infrastructure management solutions,
announced that it continues to be successful in gaining
market share within the legal administration environment.
Dallas-based Godwin Gruber is the latest law firm to
select the ON Technology product suite which will be
used to enhance the management and deployment of more
than 40 off-the-shelf and custom applications used within
the legal setting. The ON Technology solution provides
law firm IT departments with the products and services
law firms need to support their practices and growth
in an effective and cost-efficient manner. Other top-rated
firms that have turned to ON Technology include Winstead
Sechrest & Minick, also of Dallas, New York City-based
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Vossius & Partner,
based in Munich, Germany.
Godwin Gruber, a large firm representing
Fortune 500 and middle market industry clients, selected
the ON Command suite (including ON Command CCM®,
ON Command Remote™ and ON Command Discovery™)
to manage its network of 340 desktops and laptops. Godwin
Gruber will also take advantage of the suite’s
web-enabled self-service capability, which allows attorneys
to install and configure approved software, such as
Lexis-Nexis. ON Command Discovery will be used to locate
and inventory hardware and software assets, track configurations,
and automatically alert administrators whenever anything
changes.
According to Robert L. Doretti,
President, Chairman and CEO of ON Technology, one of
the major deciding factors for Godwin Gruber was the
product’s unique native installation technology.
Conventional, workgroup-oriented cloning solutions,
simply replicate identical static configurations to
all users. The ON product’s native installation
technology meets the needs of today’s heterogeneous
enterprises, by working with distinct configurations
for each user, machine, operating system, and/or network,
thereby increasing the reliability of deployments significantly
and further minimizing PC downtime.
“We understand that a major
problem arises when attorneys’ PCs are down or
they don’t have the latest software, because that
immediately translates into lost revenue,” stated
Doretti. “By automating the deployment of security
patches and other critical software updates, as well
as providing rapid disaster recovery, our robust solution
increases the reliability of any infrastructure while
dramatically improving everyone’s productivity
– including IT.”
“ON Technology has
proven itself to be a committed IT partner to the legal
market by providing a comprehensive IT management solution
that enables law firms to concentrate their resources
and efforts on their core business, not the support
of that business,” added Doretti. “We are
very happy to work with Godwin Gruber and look forward
to providing them with high-quality products and services
that deliver the industry’s best ROI while providing
tactical and strategic value in support of their business
objectives.”
