Atlantic Mutual Selects ON
Technology Solution for Windows 2000 Migration &
Ongoing Remote Management of Mobile & Desktop
PCs in 30 Locations Worldwide
ON Command CCM® allows Atlantic
Mutual to implement
full PC lifecycle management, including unattended
OS deployments and network delivery of business-critical
applications
Waltham,
MA (May 21, 2002)- - ON Technology (NASDAQ:
ONTC), a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure
management solutions, today announced that Atlantic
Mutual Insurance Company has selected and begun implementing
ON Command CCM to manage its network of mobile and desktop
PCs distributed across 30 locations nationwide. Atlantic
Mutual Insurance Company, a premier provider of property
and casualty insurance since 1842, ranks among the top
U.S. property-casualty insurance companies.
ON Command CCM will save significant time and money
for Atlantic Mutual by automating its enterprise-wide
migration to Microsoft® Windows 2000®, including
unattended deployment of Windows 2000 as well as migration
of end-user data and personalized settings. In addition,
ON Command CCM will be used for ongoing management of
critical insurance applications and instantaneous "pushes"
of security patches and anti-virus signatures, thus
increasing the reliability and availability of Atlantic
Mutual's business processes and enhancing end-user productivity.
ON's inventory solution will also be used for hardware
and software asset management plus software usage monitoring
and license compliance.
"We chose ON Command CCM after
a rigorous evaluation of competitive products,"
said Don Padgett, Assistant Vice President, Information
Systems, Atlantic Mutual. "Atlantic Mutual prides
itself on its leading-edge systems for workflow management,
underwriting, policy issuance, claims and billing. Our
IT staff has to be able to deploy updates or new versions
of these systems as quickly as possible to Atlantic
Mutual employees as well as to our independent agents.
Our systems and now this new ease of remote management
are part of the great service we deliver to our agents
and insureds."
"Thanks to its unique intelligent agent technology,
ON Command CCM is also the only product that allows
us to reliably and expeditiously deploy and configure
the complex SQL-based insurance applications on which
our business depends," said Doug Porter, Manager
of Computer Technology Support, Atlantic Mutual. "The
new technology also allows us to keep virus signatures
up-to-date, which is critical for both Atlantic Mutual
and the agents with whom we exchange files daily."
Unlike conventional management
solutions from vendors such as Marimba and Novadigm,
ON Command CCM is the only enterprise-class system that
offers full lifecycle management, including unattended
operating system installations and one-click disaster
recovery. ON Command CCM also allows distributed enterprises
like Atlantic Mutual to easily manage all users from
a single centralized console, including both LAN-connected
users in corporate headquarters as well as remote and
mobile users.
"As our industry evolves,
the opinions that really count belong to our customers
and partners," said Robert L. Doretti, Chairman,
President, and CEO at ON Technology. "This win
demonstrates once again that our solutions uniquely
satisfy the demanding requirements of enterprise IT
organizations who are looking for end-to-end management
of all their remote and mobile systems - wherever they're
located."
