News Release ON Technology Releases Java Application Developers Kit Extends Flexibility and Openness of ON Solution, Facilitating Integration with Third-Party Tools and Existing Customer Environments Waltham, Mass. (May 29, 2003) - ON Technology (NASDAQ:ONTC), a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure management solutions, today announced the immediate availability of the ON Application Developers Kit (ADK). The new offering provides a series of open programming interfaces that significantly reduce implementation time by allowing customers and service providers to rapidly integrate ON’s management solution with previously installed third-party tools and corporate information resources. The ADK provides increased flexibility for customers and service providers who want to extend and enhance ON’s built-in management functionality by writing custom programs in standard languages such as Java and C++. The ADK builds upon ON’s previously released open interfaces, including the Command Line Interface (CLI) and ITOOL, a scripting language for customizing the actions of ON agents. For example, the ADK can be used to write programs that:
