The implementation includes remotely managing more than 4,000 business-critical computers and devices on Carnival’s 19-ship fleet, as well as all PCs within its reservation centers and corporate headquarters. “The ON Technology solution enables us to create a robust and reliable management infrastructure for all our computing systems, whether they’re located in one of our reservation centers or in a ‘floating’ IT environment thousands of miles away on a cruise ship,” said Douglas Eney, Staff Vice President of Systems Support and Technology for Carnival Cruise Lines. “By automating our existing IT processes, the ON solution significantly reduces IT costs while simultaneously enhancing guest satisfaction by allowing us to continuously update and fix remote systems in real-time, without deploying IT personnel.” The ON solution enables Carnival to lower IT costs by automating the provisioning and ongoing management of all devices such as Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals and PCs in its “24/7” reservation centers.
